Aparna Sindhoor is an award winning Chreographer and Bharatanatyam dancer
whose creative piece "Clothes" and "The Incident and After" have won rave reviews. Aparna is the disciple of the renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, Padmabhushan Dr. K. Venkatalakshamma.

Senior Dancers with diverse dance training (Indian Classical, West
African and Modern) present an exciting evening of dance set to a variety
of music that celebrates the beauty of dance and explores the contemporary
realities and concerns of people, particularly women.

Indian Classical Dancers - Madhavi Vedula (student of Padma Subramaniam and Vempatti Chinna Satyam), Sonali Mishra (Oddissi Dance Academy), Sonal Bhat (Senior Student of Jyoti Raghavan), Anuradha Ghemawat, Atleen Kaur
West African Dancers - Tara Murphy, Wendy Bivens, Tuknekah Noble
Modern Dancers - Rosemary Candelario, Kristin Kissik
Narrator - Ranjani Saigal, Director Eastern Rhythms

Dance Pieces
------------------

"Peace by Peace Stop Nukes, Women speak and Dance Haikus, in Atomic Age" explores nuclearization and its effects on women and environment in a powerful and evocative way. "Celebration", is a piece celebrating the Women's day.
The dance theater piece, "Hunt", is based on a short story by a well known Indian writer and tribal activist Mahasweta Devi.
